The AQUAENVEC project prepares a Workshop to submit results in Galicia

This next Thursday May 28th the final workshop of the LIFE + AQUAENVEC project will be held at the Centro de Estudos Avanzados (CEA) in Santiago de Compostela. The main objective of this event is to present the results of the project and reflect on Aquaenvec improving the eco-efficiency of urban water cycle.

One of the most important results of the work of Aquaenvec project is a Web tool developed to calculate the eco-efficiency of urban water cycle, which helps decision making to improve the relationship between environmental impact and cost of the activities of the urban water cycle.

The Aquaenvec project, launched in January 2012, is part of the LIFE+ program of the European Commission and has enjoyed the participation of Cetaqua (coordinator), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (USC) and the Universitat de Valencia (UV). The project has been developed in different small and medium cities of Galicia and Catalonia, with Betanzos and Calafell as case study references.

Zero emissions event

Cetaqua, as organizer of the event, has pledged to act to combat climate change, calculating and offsetting the emissions generated by the organization and conduct of the day. In calculating the carbon footprint of the emissions generated by energy consumption in rooms where the event is held, the caterer, the materials provided to attendees and the journeys made by those attending the conference into account .
