UAB

The Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) is one of the biggest public universities in Spain and it is internationally recognized for its quality and innovative research. In December 2009 UAB received the recognition as International Excellence Campus from the Education and Science Spanish Ministry (which has only been achieved by 5 campuses in Spain). The range of research activities in UAB is very large, which highlights the multidisciplinary character of this university and facilitates interdisciplinary research.

The Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA), a research institute at the UAB, will be involved in the AQUAENVEC project. ICTA aims to promote interdisciplinary research and training in the area of environmental science and technology.

SosteniPrA, a research group of the ICTA with quality mention recognised by Generalitat de Catalunya, will be involved in the AQUAENVEC project. SosteniPrA is currently involved in 6 European Projects, from which it is worth highlighting the project LC-Impact (ref. ENV.2009.3.3.2.1) which deals with the development and application of environmental Life Cycle Impact assessment Methods for improved sustainability characterisation of technologies.
